Recording Projects (Remote or In-Studio)
Karen has extensive experience recording for a variety of projects in film, pop, television, commercials, and video games. She can be heard in movies such as It Chapter Two, Frozen II, Black Adam, and Shazam! Fury of the Gods. In addition to working at major sound stages, Karen has a home studio which allows her to collaborate with composers, artists, and producers, regardless of their location. She can deliver high quality tracks in both raw and mixed form, helping producers streamline the completion of their projects.
Performances
Karen's vibrant energy as a performer makes her a tour de force on grand stages as well as intimate venues. Her experience ranges from orchestral and chamber concerts across the US and Europe, to sold-out pop concerts in Hollywood and salon concerts in private residences. A versatile cellist, she is equally comfortable in both classical and contemporary repertoire. She plays in classical orchestras as well as award shows and live events for studio audiences. Her appearances on television have included performances alongside Christina Aguilera on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and with Sting and Hozier at The Game Awards.

String Writing & Arranging
Karen is passionate about enhancing compositions with the addition of original string parts. She writes unique string arrangements for a wide range of projects and improvises her own cello lines. Her writing has spanned multiple genres, from pop to true crime documentaries and movie trailers. She conveniently records all string parts from her home studio and delivers the final tracks raw or mixed. Karen's cello performances have graced the screen on television shows, films, and commercials for leading brands. Her background in modeling, acting and music allows her to deliver captivating on-camera performances. She has appeared in commercials and projects for brands such as Cadillac, T-Mobile, Samsung, Amazon, and Taco Bell. Asian representation in the media holds significant importance to her, and she takes pride in her music video performances for Asian artists such as Liu Yifei (Mulan) and Ginger Root.
Private Teaching

Located in Los Angeles, Karen's cello studio welcomes students of all ages and abilities. With 16 years of teaching experience, Karen consistently creates a joyful and engaging atmosphere for her students, who range from children to adults. Prior to opening her LA studio, Karen was a teaching artist with the Santa Barbara Symphony as well as a teaching assistant at Indiana University Bloomington and the University of California Santa Barbara. She empowers her students by sharing effective practice methods, addressing performance anxiety, guiding them through audition preparation, and nurturing their artistry in a positive, encouraging environment.
